Peder Holt
Peder Ragnar Holt (25 January 1899 – 24 March 1963) was a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party.
He was born in Vardø. He participated in the Left Communist Youth League's military strike action of 1924. He agitated for it through the newspaper ''Finmarken'', and was convicted for this crime and sentenced to 50 days of light detention.
He served as mayor of Vardø from 1930 to 1940. After the German occupation of Norway he was appointed Consultative Minister of Supplies and Reconstruction 1945–1948 during the second cabinet Gerhardsen, and Minister of Fisheries 1951–1955 during the cabinet Torp. His career in politics ended with the post of County Governor of Finnmark, which he held from 1948 to his death, having formerly been the acting County Governor from 1944 to 1945 during the liberation of Finnmark.〔
